All the changes to the Sunset map coming to Valorant

In developer updates, Valorant developers mention that they want to change the way Sunset is played. One of the developers said: We are adjusting site B to make it more defensible.” This indicates that Valorant developers want to move the Cypher-heavy meta away from Sunset B. Here are all the changes coming to the Sunset map with patch 9.08:

Sunset B-site is one of the most replay-prone sites in the game. A few changes are coming to adjust this meta and balance it out. The main B-site’s breakaway screen is now shifted to the left side. Additionally, the pillar is now adjusted and a hollowed-out area is added for added safety.

Additionally, a wall has been added to the platform for extra protection. We all know that the Kang Kang moment in VCT 2024 caused this change. The raised box in the corner before Boba’s entrance has now also been moved to the platform. This is the first time Riot has touched the map since Sunset was released in Valorant.

The central part of the map will see little to no changes. The corner closest to the attacker’s wall in the middle is now removed. Goodbye, beautiful tree. Well, the wall now has a box. This helps aggressive players who push the corner as the box gives them good cover.

Fans think the changes don’t address real issues

Although the changes are yet to come, fans are not interested in these changes. According to one fan, the changes made on the B-site will not help get rid of the replay meta at all.

If their goal was to stop the post-plant meta, it doesn’t change anything lol— Gnoob (@Noobface) September 20, 2024

Another user on X says that Sunset Site B has more issues and these changes don’t fix them at all. While there seems to be something for the attackers, it still seems like the defenders can easily take over. Remember, Site A is still untouched.

Dude, that doesn’t even fix the site’s issues 😭 — Chronic Slump (@wtfslump) September 20, 2024

Another user states that this would completely kill Cypher meta on Sunset. One user even said, “Rip Cypher, we will miss you”Since Sunset is a defense card, with the changes, Gekko or other attackers will gain a proper advantage, fans are speculating. fans, “Attacking will be much easier, especially with Gekko.”.

Well, to see where the meta is going in Sunset, we will have to wait until Valorant patch 9.08 notes are officially available. What do you think about the new changes coming to Valorant’s Sunset map? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
