Agatha All Along has just aired its third episode and, like the previous episodes of the mini-series, this one is just as gorgeous. However, if we go back in time a little to the pilot episodes, there is a theory circulating on the internet regarding the mysterious identity of Aubrey Plaza’s character. Aubrey Plaza’s character has been around since the very first episode of Agatha All Along and there has always been this mysterious aura surrounding her. From the very first time we see her, we get the feeling that there is more to her than meets the eye and one Reddit user did some research on this and came up with the theory that Rio Vidal could be Lady Death in disguise.

We all know that Agatha has been defying death for a long time by absorbing the life force and powers of other witches. According to a Reddit user, you look at the early promotional artwork for Agatha All Along, it is created using Tarot cards where Death is mentioned. On the card, Death is dressed strikingly similar to how Rio dresses in her witch outfit. Additionally, the knife she uses to attack Agatha in episode 2 is also the same one seen on the Tarot card.

Another point they mention is that Audrey’s character tells Agatha that she has a “black heart that beats” for Agatha. This could indicate that Rio resents Agatha’s life and is attracted to her because she has been running from death for a long time.

One example I observed in the series is when Rio Vidal attacks Agatha, and she tells him, “You know the rules, you can’t kill me.” According to the myth, Death can’t inflict himself on someone based on his will. Essentially, Death can’t have someone whenever he wants. So this is also a subtle hint that Rio Vidal might be Death and Agatha knows it.

Who is Lady Death in Marvel Comics?

Lady Death is a physical incarnation of Death and one of the antagonists of Marvel Comics. She made her first appearance in Captain Marvel #26 in 1973. In the comics, she was Thanos’ love interest and since Deadpool couldn’t die, she was drawn to him, creating one of the most unusual love triangles we’ve seen in Marvel Comics. However, this isn’t the first time she’s been hinted at in the MCU. Statues dedicated to Lady Death and murals have also been spotted in films like Thor: Love and Thunder and Guardians of the Galaxy.

However, if this theory turns out to be true, this will be the first time we will be treated to a live performance of Lady Death. However, this is not shown to us in the series yet, but we may do so in the upcoming episodes. So let’s wait and see what happens and, until then, stay tuned with us!
