Sofia Falcone is a ruthless serial killer and the daughter of Carmine Falcone, who took the television series by storm after showing her ruthless nature in episode 1 of The Penguin. No wonder her enemies know her as Hangman. She has been one of Batman’s main villains, and Oswald Cobblepot’s standalone series The Penguin also saw her as one of the biggest threats residing in Gotham City. Yes, Sofia is a DC Comics character who first appeared in the Batman Long Halloween series, which ran from 1996 to 1997. The character was created by Jeff Loeb, who once admitted that Sofia’s inspiration was drawn from Sonny Corleone from the 1972 Godfather.

Sofia Falcone was seen helping her father uncover the identity of the Holiday Killer, who was later revealed to be her brother, Alberto. This was the first time we saw Sofia in DC comics. She later reappeared in Dark Victory, in which a new serial killer targeted the Gotham City police. However, in the end, it was revealed that the brutal killer was none other than Sofia herself, and this event in the comics gave birth to Madmax’s “Executioner.”

She has since appeared in several comic books related to the Caped Crusader, such as Catwoman: When in Rome and Batman. Teen Wolf actress Crystal Reed played the character in the police television series Gotham, and now American actress Cristian Milioti plays her in The Penguin.

Sofia Falcone Deserves More Comic Book Appearances

Despite being a worthy villain and potential member of the Falcone family, Sofia hasn’t had many appearances in the comics. She’s been primarily associated with Batman and has only appeared in a handful of comics. However, when The Penguin introduced the live-action version of the serial killer, it didn’t take long for fans to recognize the DC character.

Sofia is a complex character and much more interesting than her brother. She is a ruthless killer who enjoys inflicting pain. Sure, Sofia hasn’t had as much exposure as other villains like The Penguin or the Riddler, but that’s going to change after the Penguin TV series. The character has already captivated audiences in the first episode, and hopefully, her character arc will only get better as the story progresses.
