Gege Akutami’s remarkable Shonen manga Jujutsu Kaisen ended this weekend with chapter 271 after more than six years. After Gojo was unexpectedly defeated by Sukuna, the King of Curses, fans did not lose hope and continued to wait for the return of the Six Eyes prodigy. Although Yuta took over Gojo’s body, this technically marked Gojo’s return to the battlefield. However, Yuta’s soul returned to his own body in the epilogue, and this made fans even more optimistic about Gojo’s return in the final chapter of the JJK manga. So, does Gojo Satoru come back from the dead in the latest chapter, Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 271? Let’s find out!
Is Gojo revived in the latest chapter of Jujutsu Kaisen?
I’ll be honest, as an avid Jujutsu Kaisen manga reader, at first I wanted our beloved sensei to come back from the dead as well. See how Gojo was killed by Sukuna. However, as his student Itadori Yuji began to shine, it made sense for Yuji to take over and act as the protagonist like Gojo wanted.
However, in an unexpected turn of events, in chapter 261, Gege surprises everyone with Yuta. take over Gojo’s body. At least in this way, Gojo’s return to the series was meaningful and didn’t completely steal the spotlight from the protagonist.
But in the end, Yuta was able to return to his own body, thanks to Rika. We were also stunned to see Higuruma cheat death. These unexpected twists and turns in the chapters leading up to the finale gave fans hope, who came up with new theories about Gojo’s return. Even our editor Anmol had a crazy but plausible theory about how Gojo could return.
But all efforts were in vain because Gojo was not revived in the latest chapter of Jujutsu Kaisen, as fans had hoped.
Gojo Satoru returned in JJK’s final chapter, but not in the way we expected
Although he was not resurrected by Gege Akutami, Gojo Satoru made an appearance in the final chapter of Jujutsu Kaisen. Satoru was part of JJK Chapter 271 in a flashback sequence, where he can be seen conversing with Yuji.
In this conversation between Yuji and his mentor, the world’s most powerful wizard mentioned that his students might forget him as they continue to grow as wizards. Furthermore, Yuji pointed out that no one could forget their sensei. It’s clear that Gojo felt alone at the summit, but we’re glad that Yuji reassured him in his final moments.
Just like us, Satoru also had high expectations from Itadori Yuji. This particular moment hit home for me (and the fans) who have loved this man for six years. Although all of these moments put a nice spin on Gojo’s story, Gege completely avoided talking about Gojo’s death in the final chapters and didn’t even give him a proper farewell.
If you read the last few chapters, Gojo’s death was never mentioned or acknowledged at all at the end. We arrived at the tomb of Tsumiki Fushiguro but our dear sensei was not treated to a burial scene.
These actions caused huge disappointment among Gojo’s fans. But some of the fandom takes this in a positive way. Now, for the umpteenth time, fans are speculating that Gojo might still return in Jujutsu Kaisen Part 2, as Gojo’s death was never properly addressed by Gege in JJK. This is wishful thinking as no sequel to Jujutsu Kaisen is in the works or coming anytime soon.
