Do you remember the excruciating yet amazing times we all had with Flappy Bird? Well, I do. Flappy Bird, the one mobile game that got us all hooked, was taken offline a year after its launch by creator Dong Nguyen. While he said the game was “gone forever,” it now seems like Flappy Bird is coming back better than ever with a new group.
Flappy Bird will now officially return to Android, iOS, and other unannounced platforms in 2025. This is made possible by a group called The Flappy Bird Foundation Group which is a self-proclaimed team of passionate fans.
The Foundation acquired the rights to the game from Gametech, LLC who himself claimed it from Nguyen. As it stands, the indie developer hasn’t bothered to defend the rights since he’s abandoned the game altogether.
While not many details have been revealed yet, we do have a nice one-minute trailer that sums up the whole fiasco. Towards the end, we get to see some glimpses of the new Flappy Bird game as well as the features that will come with it.

From what it seems, Flappy Bird will now be more expansive than ever. This includes new characters, new game modes, and a nice new splash of color! A particularly interesting addition is the “Rivals” mode which will allow players to face 99 other players in a match.
Flappy Bird Release Date and Platforms
Flappy Bird will be officially relaunched for Android, iOS, and other unannounced platforms sometime in October 2025 The creators also promised a browser version that will have the same features.
While the circumstances of the rights being acquired from one developer to another seem strange, we’re still thrilled to see Flappy Bird return for all of us. I don’t know about you, but my work productivity is about to drop even more!
